Oxbridge Social
The Cambridge University Korean Society (CUKS) hosts various types of social events each week in order to achieve a strong community and a solid networking platform through which members can interact throughout their life.
Our first main event in Michaelmas term is Freshers’ Squash where the annual report and the nature of the society is presented to the members, followed by the usual gathering and informal drinks. Other social events include the UG/PG Welcoming Party, Formals and Annual Dinner. The Welcoming Party helps freshmen to smoothly blend into the society through exciting group recreations and pairing them with a society parent. Also, we strive to break the gap between UG and PG through Formals and Annual Dinners. In fact many of our events are open to anyone who is interested in Korean heritage. Through events such as the Korean BBQ Night we aim to promote Korean culture and aid non-Korean members to learn about and experience Korea.
Moreover, there are opportunities to interact with other cultural groups within Cambridge as well as with Oxford University Korean Society, which broadens the networking platform. Most importantly, our extraordinary events provide necessary breaks within the hectic academic year, vastly enhancing the quality of students’ lives at university.
